Goodfellas TV Series Being Setup At AMC: The Killing, Walking Dead And Now Gangs?

AMC, home of The Killing and The Walking Dead is in the early stages of developing a series based on Martin Scorsese’s Oscar-nominated film Goodfellas. Nicholas Pileggi, who along with Scorsese co-wrote the 1990 film and wrote the book of which the movie was based.

He is set to executive-produce along with Jorge Zamacona, who served as a producer on Homicide: Life on the Street (and briefly on Oz), original Goodfellas producer Irwin Winkler, and David Winkler.

Goodfellas, which starred Robert De Niro, Ray Liotta and Joe Pesci, was nominated for six Oscars in 1991, including Best Picture. The movie follows the rise and fall of the Lucchese crime family associate Henry Hill (Liotta) and his friends from 1955 to 1980.

Looks like the bad guys of Boardwalk Empire will now have a stiff competition with the Goodfellas.
